About
So Puerto Rico keeps its own.
Puerto Rico has always been extraordinary. Coquí helps its young people see and build the opportunity that already exists on the island. We build tools to do it; coqui.work, a career coach, is the first.
Our mission
That Puerto Rico's young people see and build the opportunity the island already offers, so no one leaves for lack of knowing what staying can offer.
Our vision
A Puerto Rico that keeps its own. An island where a young person's first instinct is not to leave but to build, where talent grows into the careers, families, and communities that make Puerto Rico stronger, and where “where will I work?” no longer means “somewhere else.”
What guides us
Trust first
We give the complete, honest picture. It is the only thing that earns the right to be in the conversation.
Stay-first, not stay-only
We show every path, including leaving, and trust the person to choose.
Grounded in data
Every figure comes from verified data, with its date and its source.
No judgment
Staying, leaving, and not knowing yet are equally valid answers.
Why Puerto Rico
Too many young people leave without ever seeing what the island offers, because the tools they have at hand are built for somewhere else and blind to the opportunity here.
Puerto Rico offers concrete reasons to stay: tax exemptions for young people, support to start a business, and real study programs and scholarships, which we verify against current law. Almost no one shows them in time. Coquí does.
Our approach
We start by making the opportunity visible. Our first tool, coqui.work, is a career coach grounded in a knowledge graph of real Puerto Rico data: it reasons over that data and explains its reasoning, instead of guessing. In time we will build more.
The conversation design was developed by its founder, Marlene J. Colón Torres, PhD, an industrial-organizational psychologist and certified coach, so the process is grounded in professional practice and cares for the person using it.
